Privacy policy
That Little Tea Shop (17 Meeting House Lane, Brighton, BN1 1HB) is responsible for the personal information described here. If you have any questions, message us on WhatsApp on +44 7729 275346 or email contact@thatlittleteashop.com.
What we collect
When you request a booking we collect your name, mobile number, email address, the date, time and number of guests, any allergies or dietary requirements, any afternoon tea you pre-order, and anything you choose to tell us in the notes (for example a special occasion). If you message us on WhatsApp, we also have your WhatsApp name, number and our conversation. If you pay a deposit, Square processes your payment; we receive confirmation of the payment but never see your full card details.
Why we use it
We use this information only to manage your booking: to reply to your request, send you the deposit link, confirm your table, contact you about changes, and prepare for your visit. Our legal basis is taking steps to enter into, and carrying out, our agreement with you. Allergy and dietary information is health information: we ask for it so we can serve you safely, use it for nothing else, share it only with our team, and delete it with the rest of your booking.
Who handles it for us
- Cloudflare hosts this website and stores booking details.
- Meta (WhatsApp) carries our booking notifications: when you request a table, your name, number, booking details, allergies and notes are sent to our team’s WhatsApp so we can reply. It’s also how we chat with you if you message us on WhatsApp; WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies to those chats.
- Square processes deposit payments.
- Resend delivers our booking emails (this is how we contact you about your booking).
We do not sell your information or use it for marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep booking details for up to 12 months after your visit, then delete them, unless we need to keep payment records for longer by law.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it, by contacting us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The booking form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that requests come from a person and not a robot.
