About Us

WhatsApp Image 2025-09-04 at 17.48_edited.jpg

Hello, I’m Gulseli Isik Ucar Elnekave.

After working for twenty-five years as a senior executive in the pharmaceutical industry, I made the life-changing decision to leave the corporate world behind and follow a dream that had quietly grown within me for many years. That dream led me to the enchanting world of tea.

My journey began with the creation of the Leman Tea Room, which I established together with my husband. From the initial idea to the final touches of the décor, I poured my heart into every detail. Celebrated by our friends and community as a true success story, the Leman Tea Room marked our very first step into this magical industry. But my dreams didn’t stop there.

With experience, vision, and a deep love for English tea culture, That Little Tea Shop was born – a unique and charming space shaped by everything I had learned and imagined. It is the embodiment of tradition reimagined with elegance and creativity.

Tea culture in England holds a very special place in my heart – its grace, its sense of history, and the way it is served almost like a ceremony. No matter what’s on the table in Britain, tea always has a place. But tea is more than just a drink; it’s an experience, a lifestyle, and a little moment of magic.

My greatest motivation in founding That Little Tea Shop was to bring people joy and offer them a space where they feel truly special. Here, our guests don’t just have tea. They step into a fairytale, surrounded by the elegance of history and tradition. With our homemade delights and thoughtful service, we aim to turn the beauty of English tea culture into something personal and unforgettable.

The décor has been lovingly curated through careful research and passion, creating an aesthetic that’s both distinctive and heart-warming. Every detail is designed to make our guests feel not like customers, but like cherished visitors in a home away from home.

To us, hospitality is not just about a smile, it’s about anticipating your needs, making every moment feel meaningful, and creating lasting memories. If I had to describe myself in three words, I’d say: thoughtful, elegant, and someone who truly loves making people happy.

When guests leave That Little Tea Shop, I want them to walk away feeling that they’ve experienced something truly special, something worth the visit, something they won’t find anywhere else. What started as a humble passion has blossomed into a heartfelt profession.

Looking ahead, my dream is to make That Little Tea Shop a must-visit destination in Brighton, a place where everyone, regardless of budget, can enjoy a high-quality, elegant experience filled with charm, warmth, and a playful touch of English tradition.

About Us

Who I Am

Hello, I’m Gulseli Isik.

After twenty-five years as a senior executive in the pharmaceutical industry, I chose to follow a dream that had quietly grown inside me for many years: tea.

Where it began

My journey started with the cosy Leman Tearoom, which I created together with Moiz Elnekave. This heartfelt project introduced us to the enchanting world of tea and shaped my vision of hospitality.

That Little Tea Shop

Building on that experience and my admiration for English tea culture, I began a new chapter with That Little Teashop. This is more than a business; it is the realisation of a heartfelt dream.

Believing that tea is a culture that strengthens friendships and crowns special moments, I set out to present the essence of English tea tradition with warm and playful touches.

My Philosophy

To me, tea is more than just a drink; it is a ritual, a comfort, and a way of connection. True hospitality means anticipating needs, creating meaningful moments, and sending guests home with treasured memories.

What I Care About

  • Thoughtful details and genuine warmth

  • Cleanliness and consistent quality

  • Celebrating English tradition with playful touches

  • Making everyone feel truly special
